Incomplete gestalt
From the outside, autistic people get described as intolerant of ambiguity or uncertainty.
From the inside it feels like not being able to relax until I understand
It feels like having 99 pennies, like needing one more before I can finally exchange them for a single, lightweight dollar bill.
Ambiguity is more pennies than fit in my hands, the tension of too much and not yet.
Uncertainty is incomplete gestalt, and waiting feels awful. Any moment now I will drop all the pennies on the floor.
